Our Chugwater Chili makes great chili dogs when added to your favorite hotdogs and topped with your favorite toppings. It is also a budget-friendly meal. Chugwater Chili is a quick and easy chili to make that only involves using a handful of ingredients that make a tasty batch of chili. If you have leftover Chugwater Chili you can make a new meal by turning it into chili cheese dogs. Or if you just want some chili dogs for dinner you can make a quick less than 30-minute batch of Chugwater Chili to top your hotdogs with. There are so many possibilities for making a fun meal that the whole family will enjoy.

Making Chugwater Chili

In a medium pot, brown 2 pounds ground beef and drain the excess fat.

Stir in 3 rounded tablespoons Chugwater Chili Seasoning or Chugwater Chili Hot Chili Seasoning if you want it spicier.

Then add a 15-ounce can of tomato sauce and 15 ounces of water. I usually rinse the tomato sauce can with water and add that to the pot. This helps clean the leftover tomato sauce out of the can and allows you to use all of the sauce in the chili.  Bring to a boil. While stirring so you do not burn it. Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add in two 15-ounce cans of pinto beans undrained and return to a simmer.

If you want the chili thicker then add less water or drain the pinto beans.

Assembling Your Chili Dog

Heat up your favorite hot dogs. You could even use brats if you wished.

Place a cooked hot dog on a hot dog bun.

Then add some Chugwater Chili on top.

Sprinkle some cheese on top.
