Chugwater Chili Dip & Dressing Mix 7 Ways

Explore new ways to use our southwest dip & dressing seasoning mix. From adding a little zing to a baked potato to creating a quick snack or lunch, these tricks will help add some flavor to your favorite meals.

Chugwater chili southwestern dip with celery, carrots, bell peppers, and cucumbers on plate

For a just want to eat it by the spoonful dip, whisk two tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Dip Mix, 1 cup of mayonnaise, and 1 cup of sour cream. Scoop it up with fresh vegetables, top it on a baked potato, spread it on a BLT. It's a little tangy, a little smokey, and a lot delicious however you eat it. For a zesty, creamy dip with fewer calories, add the seasoning to plain Greek yogurt. Read ahead for some ideas for snacking, lunching, and dinner time. Plus some helpful tips for baking the perfect baked potato from Cook's Illustrated

Chugwater Chili Dip Seasoning with Plain Yogurt

Chugwater Chili Dip Mix also mixes well with plain yogurt for a tasty dip that has considerably fewer calories. One cup of 2% Greek yogurt contains about 5 grams of fat. Plus, the tangy flavor of Greek yogurt complements the seasonings in our seasoning blend well. In the example pictured above, I opened the 17 ounce container of Greek yogurt, measured two scant tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Dip Seasoning, and mixed it together. Using the original container makes clean up easier, and if the dip is for a to-go, then no need to worry about getting your storage container back home.

Lunch on the Go

Veggies keep crisp and cool in a mason jar. Stack the heavier produce like carrots on the bottom and the more tender veggies like broccoli and tomatoes on top. Scoop Chugwater Chili Dip Mix with the veggies, and leave the spoon at home. Got a lot of produce? Mason jars keep individual servings for a few days, so making a few veggie jars at once saves time and makes packing a lunch each morning easier.

For a Crowd

Veggie trays are a pot luck staple and for good reason. A few veggies with Chugwater Chili Dip Mix complement the heavier, calorie rich foods served at get-togethers. Keep the veggie tray on another pan like a rimmed cookie sheet to keep everything cool as cucumbers.

Mmmm...Hot Dog Dip!

Hot dog dinner in the summertime is a favorite for a lot of folks. Portion out some Chugwater Chili Dip mixed with mayonnaise and sour cream. Heat the dog and bun on the grill, rinse a few heirloom tomatoes and sugar snap peas, and eat up with enough room for some ice cream.

Dollop on a Baked Potato

Baked potatoes might be the most supportive food available. They gladly let anything paired with them be the star, and the vibrant seasoning in Chugwater Chili Dip Mix makes them a satisfying meal.

  • For a flavorful skin, soak the potato in a solution of 1/2 cup water and 2 tablespoons of salt before baking.
  • For even cooking, bake the potato on an oven safe metal rack placed in a cookie sheet.
  • For a tender potato interior, bake at 450 degrees until an inserted thermometer reaches 205 degrees.
  • For a crispy exterior, bake the potato at 450 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. (Test the interior!) Brush the skin with oil, and bake for another 10 minutes.
  • For a baked potato you'll want to eat again, top with Chugwater Chili Dip Mix and chopped cilantro.

BLT Southwest Style

Add some zest to you BLT with the bright flavor of Chugwater Chili Dip Mix.

Chugwater Chili Dip Mix with Cream Cheese on Bagels

Chewy bagels and cream cheese have been the best of friends for a long time. Sprinkle the creamy spread with Chugwater Chili Dip Mix Seasoning to rekindle the fire.

For some myself included smoked salmon means Sunday morning, brunch, and fine china. Though smoked salmon is considered a luxury food, current fish farming practices make it a reasonably priced item at most grocery stores. A bagel with cream cheese seasoned with Chugwater Chili Dip Mix Seasoning and smoked salmon is savory, a little fancy, and another way to eat delicious.
