Our slow cooker shredded chicken taco recipe only requires a few ingredients but can make a meal for dinners plus leftovers if it does not get eaten in one sitting. It can also be used for a variety of purposes besides tacos. Add it to burritos, enchiladas, or a rice bowl. How to Make Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Meat

In your slow cooker add 4-6 chicken breasts depending on size, 1 can of diced tomatoes and green chilies, 32 oz chicken broth, 2-3 Tbs Chugwater Chili Seasoning (if you want it mild use 2 Tbs if you want it spicier use 3 Tbs or more).

Turn the slow cooker onto low if you want to cook it for around 6 hours. If you want to cook for 4 hours turn the slow cooker to high.

Once the chicken has cooked pull the chicken from the slow cooker and shred using 2 forks. After you have shredded the chicken you can add it back to the slow cooker to keep it warm and moist in the juices.

  1. In your slow cooker add chicken breasts, diced tomatoes and green chilies, chicken broth, and Chugwater Chili Seasoning (if you want it mild use 2 Tbs if you want it spicier use 3 Tbs or more).
  2. Turn the slow cooker onto low if you want to cook it for around 6 hours. If you want to cook for 4 hours turn the slow cooker to high.
  3. Once the chicken has cooked for your preferred time pull the chicken from the slow cooker and shred using 2 forks. After you have shredded the chicken you can add it back to the slow cooker to keep it warm and moist in the juices until you serve. 
  4. Serve hot with your favorite toppings and tortilla shells.
