This fiesta goulash recipe is a fun new take on traditional goulash. This quick and easy one-pot meal is seasoned with our chili seasoning to create a flavorful and cheesy treat that will become a crowd favorite.
Sometimes life gets busy, and you need an easy-to-make-one-pot treat that you can feed your family. It is even better if the recipe has ingredients that are easy to find in your kitchen or at the grocery store. Goulash is an easy treat to make. There are a variety of goulash recipes out there such as Italian style goulash and other varieties that people have created over the years. Goulash is a great comfort food for any time of the day.
Our fiesta goulash recipe features ground beef seasoned with our chili seasoning. Then you add in noodles, cheese, and salsa to create a delicious treat to enjoy.
Browning and Seasoning the Ground Beef
In a medium pot, brown 1 pound of ground beef. If you prefer you can also use ground turkey or venison in this recipe.
Now add in ¼ cup of diced onion (if you like extra onion you can add in more or if you prefer not to use any onion that is also an option). Cook until the onion softens and becomes translucent.
Now season the ground beef and onion with 2 tablespoons of Chugwater Chili Seasoning. If you want to make the dish spicier you can use the Chugwater Chili Hot Chili Seasoning. This will add some extra heat to the goulash.
Cooking The Noodles
You will add in 3 cups of macaroni or elbow noodles, 3 cups of water, and one 16 oz. jar of salsa to the pot. Usually, I rinse the jar out with some water to make sure I use all of the salsa. Boil until the noodles have softened. You can test the noodles by stabbing a fork in them to see if they are softened.
Making it Cheesy
Add in 8 oz. Velveeta™ cheese diced or 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese if do not like using Velveeta™ and cook until melted. Stir occasionally so that the goulash does not burn.
How to Serve Fiesta Goulash
This is a great dish that can be served to a crowd or as a dinner option. Usually, when I eat this fiesta goulash, I like to use tortilla chips with it. I either crunch up the tortilla chips and stir them in or use the chips as a scoop and scoop up the goulash like a dip. You can serve fruit or a salad with it too. There are many possibilities when serving this meal. This one-pot meal is great if you have a busy schedule or just want some comfort food to enjoy.
