Why Beef?

Chugwater Chili Corp has many reasons to love ground beef. This power protein is easy to buy, plays well with many foods and seasonings, and adds to a healthy lifestyle.  In fact, about a third of a cup of lean ground beef provides 25 grams of protein, and the updated USDA health guidelines recommend most healthy adults eat 25 grams of protein at two meals each day. Plus, compared to other proteins, lean ground beef provides all of the protein with little fat. With all of these benefits, you will have even more new reasons to love ground beef too.

Step 1: How to Keep Your Beef From Drying Out

To keep your beef moist as you cook it, toss ground beef with baking soda and water. Let the meat sit for 20 minutes. The baking soda locks the water in the beef so that during cooking, the beef browns nicely and stays moist.

Step 2: Brown Your Meat

In a heavy bottomed pan or skillet on medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until no pink remains. (I like 85%, but if a lower fat content is what you are wanting, a 90% ground beef is good too. With the Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend, the taste will not be compromised.)To get smaller pieces of meat you can use a pastry cutter when chopping the meat.

Step 3: Add the Chili Seasoning

Now add in the Chugwater Chili Gourmet Blend. You can play around with the taste to make mild seasoned tacos or spicier seasoned tacos. If you like more seasoning in your tacos simply add more of the chili seasoning. If you want more mild beef tacos just decrease the amount you add.

Step 4: Assembling the Tacos

Once you have created the easy beef taco filling you can serve it with flour tortillas for yummy soft beef taco. In fact we have a wonderful Homemade Flour Tortilla Recipe you can follow.
